Accessible Directory to Resources

There is a new website you may wish to visit: www.healthbridges.info

This site was created by local people in Western Pennsylvania who are Deaf, Deaf-blind and hard of hearing.  The site is for people who are Deaf, Deaf-blind and hard of hearing and for health providers and insurers too.

This newly developed website seeks to provide reliable health and advocacy related information in a format that is accessible to all and links to resources across the state. Each month the topics discussed will change. This month the site will offer these features:

·        An Accommodation Card that you can use to advocate for yourself when you go to a doctor’s office or hospital

·        A resource directory about area social supports

·        Information about your rights and the obligation of health care providers under the Americans with Disability Act

·        Films about topics of interest made by people from Pittsburgh
